Bhel Puri Recipe

Bhel Puri is one of the most famous chaat of India. It is one of the easy and quick to make snack and lovable by many. It is a delicious snack made with puffed rice, sev, potato, onions, tomatoes and chutneys(sauces) that give this dish an amazing taste.

Ingredients
  

  • 8 nos Papadis (flat puri/chaat puri)
  • 1/2 cup Nylon Sev
  • 2 cups roasted/ plain puffed rice
  • 3 tbsp finely chopped onions
  • 1/3 cup boiled and chopped potatoes
  • 1/3 cup finely chopped tomatoes
  • 1 no green chilli finely chopped (optional)
  • 1 tbsp green chutney
  • 1 tbsp garlic chutney
  • 1/2 tbsp Date Tamarind Chutney (khajur imli chutney)
  • 2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
  • 1/2 tbsp chaat masala powder

Instructions
 

  • Heat 2 teaspoon oil in a heavy based kadai over medium flame. Add puffed rice, a pinch of turmeric powder and salt. Stir and roast it around 3-4 minutes until crispy. Transfer them in a bowl after roasting to prevent it from burning.
  • Take puffed rice in a big bowl.
  • Add chopped potatoes, chopped tomatoes, chopped onion and chopped green chilli.
  • Add khajur imli chutney, green chutney and garlic chutney.
  • Add nylon sev and chaat masala powder.
  • Mix all ingredients together with a large spoon. Taste the prepared bhel and if required, add more garlic chutney for garlic flavor and spiciness, khajur-imli chutney for mild sweet-tangy taste and green chutney for spiciness.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves. Add crushed papdi or serve it with whole papdis according to your choice. Bhel puri is ready. Serve it immediately because it will turn soggy within few minutes.
